• Mission:

The Deacon Charitable Foundation was started in 2006 by Deacon Corp., a general contractor with offices in Washington, Oregon and California. Deacon funds the Foundation with a percentage of the profits from its operations, because it is part of their corporate mission to “Support Our Communities.”

Deacon employees determine where the Foundation will focus its support through an annual issues survey. The Foundation mission statement reflects their wishes.

Foundation Board of Directors is made up of seven current or past Deacon employees. An executive director administers the daily operations. Volunteer Charitable Giving Committees in each of the company's four offices identify organizations to support, award grants, and organize community service activities for employees.
